Submission day for tape, if not submitted which we have, and script/storyboard is today.
Everything basically is in order and so, we're meeting later to submit and skip all the way home in happiness and joy that the block has ended. The block and freshmen year has ended which is quite bitter sweet because freshmen year has been fun.
I suppose, this last post is solely for reflection purposes and I shall delve deep into my soul and reflect on the past two months that MOI project one has spanned across. The reason I'm doing this now even though submission of journal is on Monday is because I don't want to procrastinate over the weekends and end up rushing through a meaningless entry and end with a negative impact. Since I have the drive and feel to reflect now, I shall not deny myself.
Project one started over two months ago and going into this was quite daunting because we were going into unknown territory. But what made it good was that we went into unchartered waters together and that was what made it slightly exciting. The task given to us sounded quite fun but the first problem that came to my mind was that it would be difficult coming up with an idea and concept of the video.
With our group formed, I remember we went straight into brainstorming and came up with a concept a few days later. We went into production and faced numerous problems that forced us to change our concept a few weeks later. Not being discouraged, we worked through our sudden letdown and emerged with a more determined spirit.
Working in a group will obviously have it's ups and downs. Conflict, miscommunication, petty fights are pretty much common in our group but we also had fun, subway feasts and more fun. It opened my eyes to a lot of things that I might face in the future but it's a learning experience so it doesn't deter me from anything.
I learnt a lot during these two months. I found out that I sort of enjoy editing. I think it's the most tedious part, especially with computers that lag, but it's quite enjoyable when you get the hang of it.
Yes, project one might have come to an end but this is really something memorable that will stay with us. The fact that most of us are friends made it better.
There are a lot of people that I'd like to thank and they know who they are.
So, I shall bid goodbye to this blog and then let out a gigantic sigh of relief.
BYE!

day-almost-there
It was the day.
MOI project 1 gala premiere.
Press to Exit arrived at 12.15pm at the LT which, considering the other groups, weren't so bad.
We were one of the first few who were early, so kudos to us.
Anyway, we started at around 1pm due to no-one being at the LT. Sad, I know. Ronald's class went first then Alfie's then Wahidah's so our group was one of the last. I really had fun watching the other group's videos. They were all entertaining and amusing and I laughed so much.
I laughed particularly hard when Andrea's group from Alfie's class cast Joel to be some professor that was being interviewed. I think he did a very good job playing the aloof, mad, slightly mental professor. The inspiration was probably what made it work. But good job to Joel.
Still in character, that boy opened for our group and we showed our video. I thought it was pretty good, especially the audio. As in, our voices were audible even when there was a heck load of background noise.
Oh yes, and before that, we did peer evaluation which I shall not disclose here but I'm pretty sure we all know how we fared.
We left the LT at the end of everything feeling uplifted and elated and like a burden that has been lifted off our already hunched shoulders. Needless to say, a little celebrating was in order.
And so, we celebrated till the wee hours of the next day.

day twenty-nine
We are currently waiting for our video to render and to record on tape.
The rendering time, as of now, is 1 hour, 2 minutes with 4200 of 19034 frames rendered.
Like, omg. I thought we'd be fast today.

day twenty-eight ooo
Okay, so day twenty-eight is actually yesterday.
Anyway, we carried on editing our video and we met at mine. We started at around noon and only finished 12 hours later.
We were doing subtitles with a lagging computer and stopped for 10 minute breaks for lunch and dinner. Subtitles done, we had to compile our works to show in the credits. Then, we had to find a suitable song for the credit itself.
A whole lot to do and a whole lot we got done.
And the whole day, I was being bombarded by text messages. Like, give up already.

Saturday
Saturday was spent at my place editing the video.
We met bright and early, wanting to get our video over and done with. We met in school and tried to open the project file that was in Joel's ipod. But the project file couldn't open because the premiere version in my computer is CS3 and the school's one was, ah well, different. We trekked back to my place and spent the whole of our afternoon and early evening editing our video.
We finished at around 8pm and, ho-hums, went to Kez to unwind.

day twenty-eight or just a normal fri-day
I don't know if today is part of the [number_day] or just an extra day that we came back. haha. I think I don't make sense. Anyway, we came down today because Wahidah wanted to see our progress of the video. We had to retake the 2D scene and also take the outro sequence which took about 2 days to shoot.
Anyway, we showed Wahidah the video and she seemed pretty okay with it. Our problem now is shortening whatever parts we can shorten so that the video fits 10 minutes.
Oddly, I'm rapidly losing my patience which is quite crappy. The reasons span out to many different things which I shall not elaborate on.
Anyway, going back tomorrow to edit the video on premiere.
Hardworking group, that's us. ya ya ya ya.

day twenty-seven
We were all late today because of the heavy rain. We were all stuck.
It's been raining so much lately, it's quite troublesome, yeah, but it's been quite nice as well. The torturous part would be waking up to the perfect 'sleep-in' weather everyday.
Anyway, we met and Joel kindly borrowed the camera when we arrived. We slacked for a bit because i was uploading the video we took yesterday into my computer. Then we slacked some more before going to shoot our outro scene.
Andreas from the other group kindly helped by being our cameraman. We took some time deciding what we were gonna say and how the camera was supposed to move but we finally got through it.
So, now, there's only editing left.
yippee.
